QUAlibrate

Automated Calibration Software

Overview

QUAlibrate simplifies the complex task of quantum calibration, dramatically boosting productivity. Built for scale, it enables parallelized multi-qubit tune-up, with full qubit tune-up in less than a minute. QUAlibrate gives users complete code-level control to program and customize calibration nodes and graphs.

With interactive execution, live visualization, and robust data management, QUAlibrate ensures high-fidelity calibration and seamless scalability for today’s – and tomorrow’s – quantum systems.

Customizable Calibration Graphs

At the core of QUAlibrate is its graph-based approach: Calibration graphs and their control flow logic are completely customizable. They are made up of nodes, each representing a specific operation – like spectroscopy, Rabi experiments, or gate tuning.

  • Nodes are implemented as QUA programs – custom-built
or selected from QUAlibrate’s comprehensive library of pre-
built control applications.
  • Calibration graphs determine how nodes connect and interact based on qubit-specific results and run simultaneously on any number of selected qubits.
  • Advanced traversal algorithms allow for intelligent navigation,
and optimization of the graph.

Quantum Abstract Machine (QUAM)

QUAlibrate leverages QUAM, a component-based architecture built on the QUA programming language. QUAM digitally models your quantum system – from hardware to qubits – enabling more flexible, hardware-agnostic calibration workflows. It simplifies setup, enhances control, and ensures consistency across devices and experiments.

  • Focus on qubit operations without needing hardware-specific code.
  • Adapt to new systems with minimal overhead.
  • Log and re-run calibration routines with ease.

Intuitive Web Interface

QUAlibrate’s web-based interface gives full visibility and control over calibration workflows, from individual node execution to full graph orchestration.

Calibration Node View

  • Run calibration programs from the built-in application library, or create custom QUA-based routines.
  • View results with detailed, real-time visualizations and plots.
  • Set parameters and adjust them interactively in response to live measurement outcomes.

Calibration Graph View

  • Build automated calibration graphs by connecting multiple nodes.
  • Choose from several traversal algorithms to optimize efficiency and calibration success.
  • Track progress with live graph updates at every stage.
  • Parallelize calibration across multiple qubits to accelerate and improve large-scale tune-up.
QOLAB

“QUAlibrate has been transformative for our company. Its automated calibration capabilities now complete full calibrations in less than 10 minutes – tasks that otherwise would demand up to two hours of manual work. This efficiency boost frees up our team to focus on accelerating our QPU development.”

QE

“At Quantum Elements, we see QUAlibrate as a meaningful step toward a more open and empowered quantum ecosystem. Calibration has long been a hidden bottleneck, often locked behind proprietary tools and inaccessible workflows. By making it open source, Quantum Machines is helping turn calibration into a shared foundation the entire field can build on. We believe this kind of openness not only accelerates progress — it also gives scientists the clarity and control they need to push quantum computing forward, together.”

OQC

“It was fantastic to see QUAlibrate rapidly perform a complex,
full tune-up on the Architect system, OQC’s partner system with Oxford Instruments NanoScience and Quantum Machines. The results clearly demonstrated the power and efficiency of QUAlibrate's automated calibration approach, as showcased by Quantum Machines.”

A&B

"Quantum Machines' OPX played a key role in our roadmap.
It enabled us to get the best control electronics out there [FPGA] without having to learn how to program them.
QM provides a very scalable, very easy to use and very powerful hardware, which allows us to focus on the quantum science."
